What Human Capabilities Matter Most in an AI World?

Many teams now have access to artificial intelligence (AI) tools but still struggle when priorities shift, decisions get messy or work doesn’t follow a script. Drawing on Hemsley’s research, this webinar introduces a set of 12 core human capabilities that consistently underpin effective performance alongside AI, including how people make judgements, interact with others, respond under pressure and adapt in real situations.
These capabilities are intentionally categorized to help learning professionals move beyond generic skills lists and design learning that reflects how people actually work. Rather than treating human capability as a single concept, the framework provides a clear structure for understanding what to build, why it matters and how learning design must change to support behavior and performance in an AI-enabled world.
Attendees will learn how to:
- Differentiate between skills, capabilities and behaviors to design learning that improves performance in AI-enabled roles.
- Apply a practical framework for the 12 human capabilities that matter most alongside AI.
- Redesign learning experiences to strengthen real-world decision-making and performance.
- Use AI to support and scale learning effectively, while keeping human judgement and connection at the forefront.
