Here are the deals we took note of last quarter:\r\n<h2>Learning Technologies Lead the Way<\/h2>\r\nThe learning technologies segment of the corporate training market consistently sees rapid growth: Recent Training Industry research <a href=\"https:\/\/store.trainingindustry.com\/products\/the-state-of-the-learning-technologies-market\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">found that<\/a> spending on learning technologies increased in 2020 by roughly 22.5%, bringing the total spend to about $6.5 billion. The transaction is expected to close in Q2 of this year.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>ARuVR, an extended reality (XR) platform that allows users to create and deploy their own virtual and augmented reality (VR and AR) training solutions,<a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/press-release\/learning-technologies\/bgf-makes-transformational-investment-in-aruvr-tech-platform\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> secured<\/a> a $3 million investment from BGF.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>WorkRamp, an \u201call-in-one learning platform,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/press-release\/learning-technologies\/workramp-raises-40-million-for-its-all-in-one-learning-platform-built-to-unlock-the-growth-potential-of-fast-growing-businesses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">raised $40 million<\/a> in Series C funding led by Salesforce Ventures, Slack Fund and Susa Ventures.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\neLearning Brothers, which <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/magazine\/jul-aug-2021\/recent-acquisitions-position-elearning-brothers-as-a-one-stop-shop-solution\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">has established itself<\/a> as a leading, comprehensive learning solutions provider, saw two acquisitions and an increase in funding last quarter:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>eLearning Brothers <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/press-release\/learning-technologies\/elearning-brothers-solidifies-position-as-video-learning-leader-acquires-rehearsal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">acquired<\/a> Rehearsal, a video-based learning and coaching platform.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>eLearning Brothers <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/press-release\/content-development\/elearning-brothers-expands-with-international-acquisition-of-origin-learning\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">acquired<\/a> Origin Learning, which will help the company expand into new markets and boost its international presence.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>eLearning Brothers secured <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/press-release\/content-development\/rlg-capital-and-trinity-investors-increase-investment-in-elearning-brothers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">an additional $54 million<\/a> investment from RLG Capital and Trinity Investors, which enabled it to acquire Rehearsal and Origin Learning and recapitalize its debt.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h2>Compliance Training<\/h2>\r\nThe compliance training sector of the market saw three deals last quarter, which showcased the need for mental and behavioral health training as well as governance, risk and compliance (GRC) solutions:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>headversity, a provider of preventative mental health training technology for employers, closed a $10 million Series A funding round led by Level Equity. With the funding, headversity plans to \u201caccelerate its delivery of evidence-based workforce training to upskill resilience, behavioral health and psychological safety for the workforce,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/press-release\/compliance\/headversity-completes-10m-funding-round-to-upskill-mental-health-safety\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the press release<\/a><\/li>\r\n \t<li>Simplify Compliance, a portfolio company of Leeds Equity Partners, <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/press-release\/strategy-alignment-and-planning\/simplify-compliance-completes-acquisition-of-human-capital-institute-strengthening-its-hr-offering\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">acquired<\/a> Human Capital Institute (HCI), a provider of human resources and talent management leadership education and training.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Colibri Group (\u201cColibri\u201d), a professional education company with brands that provide learning to licensed professionals, <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/press-release\/compliance\/colibri-group-announces-strategic-acquisition-of-becker-professional-education-and-oncourse-learning\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">acquired <\/a>Becker Professional Education and OnCourse Learning, which will boost Colibri\u2019s GRC offerings.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h2>IT and Technical Training<\/h2>\r\nIn the IT and technical training segment of the market:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Cengage Group entered into an agreement to acquire Infosec, a leading cybersecurity education provider, for $190.8 million. With the acquisition, Cengage Group will \u201cexpand into the cybersecurity professional training market\u201d and increase its growing Workforce Skills business, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/press-release\/it-and-technical-training\/cengage-group-announces-agreement-to-acquire-infosec\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the press release.<\/a><\/li>\r\n \t<li>Cybersecurity and digital skills training platform ThriveDX, formerly known as \u201cHacker U,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/press-release\/it-and-technical-training\/nightdragon-leads-100m-new-growth-round-in-thrivedx-alongside-prytek\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> a $75 million investment from NightDragon and its affiliates.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h2>Workforce Development<\/h2>\r\nThe workforce development section of the market saw four deals last quarter:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Leading global learning solutions provider Pearson <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/press-release\/workforce-development\/pearson-acquires-digital-credentialing-leader-credly\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">acquired Credly<\/a>, a digital workforce credentialing provider. The acquisition of Credly, in which Pearson already had a nearly 20% stake, will expand the company\u2019s presence in the workforce skills sector.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Connecteam, which supports learning, communications and more for deskless teams, <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/press-release\/workforce-development\/connecteam-raises-120-million-in-series-c-funding-to-power-a-new-era-of-deskless-workforces\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">raised $120 million <\/a>in Series C funding. With this investment, the company\u2019s total funding has reached $160 million.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Learn In, a platform that helps employees build skills \u201cprecisely aligned to company growth and success,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/press-release\/workforce-development\/learn-in-secures-10-million-in-series-a-funding-to-help-companies-build-talent-academies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">raised $10 million<\/a> in a Series A funding round led by Firework Ventures.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>ChartHop, a people analytics platform <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/press-release\/workforce-development\/charthop-acquires-gather-to-deepen-and-enhance-employee-experiences\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">acquired<\/a> Gather, a people operations workflow builder.
