","main_content":"The corporate training market saw notable activity during the third quarter of 2022, including multiple investments in workforce development solutions and services and a continued demand for learning technologies.\r\n\r\nLast quarter also saw numerous acquisitions across market sectors, as corporate training providers team up to tackle widespread business challenges, from closing skills gaps to onboarding employees.\r\n\r\nAs we head toward the end of the year, let\u2019s reflect on the deals that took place last quarter.\r\n<h2>Increasing Demand for Workforce Development Solutions<\/h2>\r\nIn terms of activity, the workforce development sector of the market led the way in Q3. As organizations grapple with ongoing challenges such as employee engagement, widening skills gaps and <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/articles\/strategy-alignment-and-planning\/the-business-of-learning-episode-49-lds-role-in-retaining-talent-during-the-great-resignation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">retention<\/a>, the demand for workforce development services and solutions that can help remains high. These challenges are unlikely to go away any time soon and, thus, we expect the demand for workforce development solutions to remain high next quarter and into the new year.\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-87905\" src=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Card-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"600\" \/>\r\n\r\nHere are the deals we took note of in this sector of the market last quarter:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Clinical Education Alliance <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/press-release\/workforce-development\/clinical-education-alliance-accelerates-primary-care-education-opportunities-through-acquisition-of-rockpointe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">acquired<\/a> Rockpointe Corporation, a health care education company and provider of accredited continuing education (CE) programs.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Ed-tech company upGrad closed <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/press-release\/workforce-development\/upgrad-closes-investment-round-of-usd-210-million\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a $210 million investment round,<\/a> the largest transaction noted in Q3. Global, Bodhi Tree and others participated in the funding round, and Founder Group also invested $12.5 million in the round to maintain their over 50% ownership in the company.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>GrowthSpace, a talent development company, <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/press-release\/workforce-development\/talent-development-platform-growthspace-announces-25-million-in-series-b-funding\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> a $25 million Series B funding round led by Zeev Ventures and existing investors. This investment brings the company\u2019s total funding to $44 million.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Chronus, a mentoring platform, <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/press-release\/workforce-development\/chronus-announces-strategic-acquisition-of-ementorconnect\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">acquired<\/a> eMentorConnect, a cloud-based platform that helps teams and organizations configure their mentoring solutions.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Cornerstone, a cloud-based talent management software company, completed its acquisition of SumTotal (previously a part of Skillsoft), a provider of learning and human resources (HR) solutions. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/press-release\/workforce-development\/cornerstone-completes-acquisition-of-sumtotal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the press release<\/a>, the acquisition \u201cwill provide organisations with more power to build and strengthen their learning and talent management programmes, driving better people development and productivity.\u201d<\/li>\r\n \t<li>upGrad <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/press-release\/personalization-and-learning-pathways\/upgrad-acquires-centum-learning\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> the acquisition of Centrum Learning, further solidifying the company\u2019s standing in the market.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-87904\" src=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Card-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"600\" \/>","full_width":false,"content_band":[{"acf_fc_layout":"content_area","wysiwyg":"<h2>Learning Technologies<\/h2>\r\nWe\u2019ve seen an increasing demand for learning technologies ever since the COVID-19 pandemic forced many companies to transition their in-person programs online. Training Industry\u2019s \u201cState of the Learning Technologies Market\u201d report <a href=\"https:\/\/store.trainingindustry.com\/products\/the-state-of-the-learning-technologies-market\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">confirms that<\/a> companies \u201cpurchased multiple learning technologies during the pandemic to secure a digital learning solution.\u201d\r\n\r\nEven with all the learning technologies available on the market, the report found that the learning management system (LMS) is still the most popular, with 58% of organizations currently using one (Figure 2).\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-87906\" src=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Card-3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1051\" \/>"},{"acf_fc_layout":"content_area","wysiwyg":"It's now been over two years since the onset of the pandemic, but the demand for learning technologies shows no signs of slowing down any time soon. Due to the widespread adoption of remote and hybrid work, companies are searching for learning technologies and solutions that can support their people \u2014 no matter where they\u2019re located.\r\n\r\nHere are the deals we noted in this popular segment of the market last quarter:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Go1, one of the largest corporate training content hubs for on-demand learning, acquired Talivest, an employee experience platform. The acquisition will see Talivest\u2019s co-founders and team \u201cintegrate as part of the Go1 global organization,\u201d according to <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/press-release\/learning-technologies\/talivest-founders-successfully-complete-sale-of-company-to-australia-based-corporate-learning-leader-go1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the press release<\/a>.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>upGrad<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Francisco Partners, a global investment firm that specializes in partnering with technology businesses, <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/press-release\/learning-technologies\/francisco-partners-to-acquire-litmos-from-sap\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> that it would acquire Litmos from SAP. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2022.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Benivo, an employee mobility management platform, <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/press-release\/learning-technologies\/benivo-raises-12-million-from-updata-partners-to-accelerate-growth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> a $12 million funding round led by Updata Partners.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>LMS365 <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/press-release\/remote-learning\/lms365-acquires-evergreen-digital\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> the acquisition of workplace consultancy Evergreen Digital. The acquisition marks LMS365\u2019s expansion into Australia, New Zealand and the wider Asia-Pacific.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-87907\" src=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Card-4.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"600\" \/>\r\n<h2>Performance Management<\/h2>\r\nThe performance management sector of the market saw two deals last quarter:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>AXIOM Learning Solutions, a leading learning services organization, <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/press-release\/performance-management\/axiom-learning-solutions-acquires-patternshifts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">acquired<\/a> PatternShifts, a performance improvement firm. Herb Blanchard, president of AXIOM Learning Solutions, says in the press release that PatternShifts \u201cis a longstanding partner of AXIOM,\u201d and that the acquisition will help strengthen the company\u2019s capabilities.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>15Five, a provider of continuous performance management solutions, <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/press-release\/performance-management\/15five-raises-52-million-series-c-amplifying-its-foundational-role-in-empowering-hr-leaders-to-retain-and-motivate-top-performers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">secured<\/a> $52 million in funding led by Quad Partners.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h2>Onboarding<\/h2>\r\nEven as we make our way toward what many deem the \u201cnew normal,\u201d turnover <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gartner.com\/en\/newsroom\/04-28-2022-gartner-says-us-total-annual-employee-turnover-will-likely-jump-by-nearly-twenty-percent-from-the-prepandemic-annual-average\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">remains a challenge<\/a> for many organizations.\r\n\r\nThus, it makes sense that the onboarding sector of the market saw some activity last quarter, as companies look to get new hires up-to-speed quickly:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Workstream, a mobile-first hiring and onboarding platform for the deskless workforce, <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/press-release\/onboarding\/workstream-raises-additional-60m-extending-series-b-round-to-108m\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">raised<\/a> an additional $60 million, bringing its total Series B financing to $108 million.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Miratech announced <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/press-release\/onboarding\/mitratech-acquires-talent-management-platform-talentreef\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the acquisition of<\/a> TalentReef, an applicant tracking and onboarding platform designed primarily for hourly workers.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h2>Leadership<\/h2>\r\nIn the leadership sector of the market:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Kona, an employee experience platform for remote teams, <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/press-release\/leadership\/kona-announces-4m-seed-funding-to-help-remote-teams-become-people-first\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">closed<\/a> a $4 million seed funding round led by Unusual Ventures.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Hone, a people skills training platform, <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/press-release\/leadership\/hone-raises-30-million-series-b-round-to-democratize-executive-quality-training\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> a $30 million Series B funding round led by 3L Capital, bringing the company\u2019s total funding to $52.4 million.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h2>Other Deals by Market Segment<\/h2>\r\n<h3>Compliance<\/h3>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Regulatory and compliance training provider 360training <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/press-release\/compliance\/360training-acquires-tipsalcohol-com-expanding-alcohol-safety-training\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">acquired tipsalcohol.com<\/a>, a leading affiliate of TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) alcohol safety training.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Wellable, an employee wellness technology and services provider, announced <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/press-release\/workforce-development\/wellable-acquires-fitness-streaming-platform-sweat-factor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the acquisition of<\/a> Sweat Factor, a leading fitness streaming platform.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h3>Content Development and Personalization\/Learning Pathways<\/h3>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Knowledge Factor, Inc.
